FAQS

What do you believe?

We believe in the one true God of the Judeo-Christian tradition.

We believe that Jesus is God's only Son, born of the virgin, Mary.

We believe in the forgiveness of sins through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ.

We believe that we can only gain that forgiveness through faith in Christ.

We believe in following Jesus together as a local church.

We believe that the Holy Spirit of God lives within all who are saved.

We believe that the church and its organization are ordained and established by God.

We believe that our purpose is to follow Christ, proclaiming His Gospel, making disciples, and awaiting His return.

Why do you take communion every week?
We take communion each week because that is the pattern set out by the early church.  It is a regular reminder that our lives were paid for with a massively high price.
What type of church governance do you follow?
We follow the Elder Model of governance as taught and illustrated in the New Testament.
How should I dress?
At Journey, you can come as you feel comfortable!  You'll find people in slacks, blue-jeans, pants, dresses, and in the summer-time, even shorts.
What type of music do you have?

At Journey, you'll find everything from a simple acoustic set to a full band, complete with keyboard, acoustic guitar, percussion, bass, and even wind instruments from time to time.

Is there anything for my kids?

Oh man, is there?!  Journeytown for Kids caters to children from infants through elementary school ages!

Your kids will have fun, memorize Scripture, make crafts which help them remember what they have learned, and probably end up teaching you things about the Word of God you wouldn't learn this side of a Seminary!

What about classes for adults?
Journey features LIFE SEMINARS at 9:00 for Men, Women, and Youth.  These seminars are specially designed to lead us through the details of following Jesus Christ in an non-intimidating, seminar format.  Check out the LIFE SEMINARS button on the Home Page to learn about the current Seminars being offered!
Is there anything for women?
Journey caters specifically to the ongoing needs and recreation of women to lead them as they grow in and serve Christ.  The women's minstry constantly keeps an array of Bible Studies, Retreats, Activities, and Fellowships at the ready for Journey Ladies!
Where do I park?
There are usually plenty of spots along the edge of the Journey property either along the Leila side or the Julius side.  However, if there are none available, the Humana Health Care parking lot beside the Snow Ball Stand on Julius at the Corner of Jefferson Hwy. is alternative parking.
Will I be expected to give money when I visit???

Only if you want to do so!  In fact, we'll even buy you a cup of coffee and a donut.

If God leads you to give when you are here with us, then by all means be obedient!
